It’s been 3 years since I started this company and there is one question I am asked almost daily. In our line of work that question could be any number of things. For example:
- What are your services?
- How can I increase the visibility of my website in Google search results?
- How can we improve the interface and overall user experience of our web application?
- What the heck is social media and how can my business benefit from it?
- What are some effective ways I can market myself and my business online?
- Would you like fries with that?
Believe it or not, those questions pale in comparison the being asked “Why the name Secret Sushi?” followed by “What a great name!” I figure it might save some time if I were to simply answer that question right here, right now. Maybe then I could send everyone who asks to my here get the scoop? I’ll tell you why I wont do that, because I love the conversations! I enjoy just about any opportunity to talk with business owners, stakeholders, CEO’s, and entrepreneurs and have a meaningful conversation. Meaningful conversations that help me understand what is going on in the mind of businesses and organizations across the country. Discussions that remind me that the technology that we help those businesses use should always play second fiddle to the human connection it enhances when done right.
I have been fortunate enough to have a company name that starts conversations both on and offline. Conversations of varying degrees that have enabled me to foster a community of clients, partners, and friends who have continually reinforced my passion for the work that my team and I do.
We at Secret Sushi have done great without so much as a one page website due to the fact that we have been so busy. Well the real secret is that this changes today with the launch of our new company blog and a peek at our upcoming site shown in the image above. We expect this to be a forum for us to share not only company news, but also tips, tricks, advice, trends and general thoughts from the team and I. In essence, this is a place for us to have a bit of a conversation.
If your a designer, business owner, social media addict, marketer, or entrepreneur you might consider adding our blog to your subscription list (you can sign up to have it delivered to you by entering your email address in the right hand column). In addition, make sure to help us get the conversation going by commenting on posts when something resonates.
Oh, and if you really want to know the meaning behind the name “Secret Sushi” then drop me a line at Adam (at) Secretsushi (dot) com. We can have a conversation about it.
